Fentanyl, firearms land Vicksburg man in court

A Vicksburg man made his initial appearance in court Friday after a traffic stop landed him in jail on charges of possession of fentanyl and firearms.

Quincy Peoples, 18, appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Friday on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), with an enhanced penalty due to the presence of firearms.

According to information from the Vicksburg Police Department (VPD), Peoples was arrested Wednesday after a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 61 South and Iowa Boulevard.

Judge Penny Lawson set his bond at $250,000 and bound him over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
