Casimiro ‘Pamilo’ Martinez Villeda

Funeral Services for Casimiro “Pamilo” Martinez Villeda, 88, of Vicksburg will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home Saturday, Dec. 14, at noon. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 13, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pamilo was born in Hidalgo, Mexico on March 4, 1936 and passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, in Vicksburg. He was married to the love of his life, Octavia Martinez, and was the proud father of six children. He was a cattle farmer by trade and continued to maintain his home in Hidalgo. He was generous to his community by providing recreational facilities and also built a Catholic Church in his town. He loved to listen to violins. He worked in the United States for Shaw Carpet and eventually moved to the U.S. full time. He opened a Mexican restaurant, Martinez, in 2000. As his children opened successful businesses in the U.S., Pamilo began working with them and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. Pamilo was an active Catholic who loved the Lord and his family. He greatly loved his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Octavia Martinez; son, Jesus “Chuy“ Martinez; son, Casimiro “Cachis” Matinez; and son-in-law, Thomas Barton.

Pamilo leaves behind three sons, Jon Martinez (Vania) of Flowood, Mississippi, Jesse Martinez of Monroe, Louisiana and Lorenzo Martinez (Priscilla) of Vidalia, Louisiana; one daughter, Maria Barton (Thomas) of Vicksburg; three sisters, Chenchita Martinez Carranza, Loli Martinez Carranza of Hidalgo and Luz Martinez of Mexico City; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his loving family.
