Funeral services for Milton David Cosby are to be held Saturday, Feb. 1, in the Zion Traveler M. B. Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Johnson officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 31, in the funeral home from 5 to 6 p.m.
Milton David Cosby passed away Monday, Jan. 20, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was 76. He worked for Keesler Air Force Base and as a self-employed carpenter.
Mr. Milton David Cosby was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Aaron Cosby Sr. and Mrs. Earnestine Miller-Cosby; his grandparents, Mr. Ben Miller and Mrs. Mary Lucille Thornton-Miller; Mrs. Theresa Cosby; his daughter, Shawn Jenkins; his sisters, Ms. Shirley Marie Cosby and Ms. Panola Cosby; his brothers, Mr. Aaron Cosby Jr. and Mr. Arnold Brent Cosby; and his nephew, Mr. Ray Michael Cosby.
Mr. Milton David Cosby married Miss Elizabeth Cox June 16, 1985 at Zion Travelers M.B. Church in a service officiated by the Rev. Booker T. Smith. No children were born to this marriage. He parented several of his nieces and nephews, as well as three children to his marriage. His memory is forever cherished by his loving wife Elizabeth Cox-Cosby; his daughters, Miss Nakreshia Cox and Mrs. Ara Cox-Jenkins (Mr. Robert Jenkins); son, Mr. Robert Cox (Mrs. Kesi Nix-Cox); sisters, Mrs. Selena Reed, Mrs. Annie L. Smith, Mrs.Margaret Parson and Marjorie White; brothers, Mr. Bennie Cosby and Mr. Hyman Cosby (Mrs. Alma J Cosby); his sisters-in-law, Mrs. Marylin Cox Graves, Miss Carmen Becks, Ms. Velma Becks, Miss Carolyn Becks, Sister Vanessa Becks and Miss Ebony Cox; his brothers-in-law, Mr. Harry Cox Jr., Mr. Gregory Jackson (Mrs.Latasha Burks-Jackson), Mr. Kenneth McGruder, Mr. Horace Becks, Mr. William Becks and Mr. Jonathan Cox; his godson, Patrick Sturgis; roommate, Eddie Wooten; nieces, nephews, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, including families Cox, Cox-Jenkins, Reed, Jones, Bass, Byrd, Graves, Burks, Becks, Smith, Miller, Jenkins, Conrad, Knight, Riley, McGruder, and Carter.
