On Friday, Feb. 14, Triumph Church will host a Marriage Night for married couples. The evening will feature fellowship, food and a panel discussion by church leaders.

Anne Elizabeth Buys, director of ministries for Triumph Church, explained the church looks forward to hosting this yearly event.

“Doors will open at 6 p.m.,” Buys said. “There will be a time of mingling and refreshments until 6:30, then a brief time of worship and we’ll start the panel (discussion). That will be followed by a catered meal.”

Buys went on to explain the goal for the evening.

“We’re wanting to speak into those relationships that God has ordained. Marriage is ordained by God, created by God and established by God. This is a night of ministry, but it will also be a lot of fun, a night out for the parents. Childcare is provided,” she said.

Buys expressed hope that the couples who come will feel rejuvenated.

“We just want to minister to the couples, but also (for them) to enjoy the community, enjoy each other’s company and just have a night of being refreshed in their marriage.”

A panel will discuss a variety of marriage-related issues.

“The panelists are working on topics that apply to all seasons of marriage, whether you’re waiting on kids, whether you have kids, don’t have kids, whether you’re in your golden years, all of those things are going to be catered to all of the audience,” Buys said.

The panel will feature Pastors Mike and Zena Fields. Other panelists include Pastors Bo and Chelsea Whitfield, Terry and Helen White and Dan and Dawn Egger.

Some fun activities for the couples are planned, such as thought-provoking questions to ask themselves.

“It might be something like, ‘What’s the silliest thing you’ve ever argued about?’ or ‘What’s the funniest name one of you wanted to name a kid?'” Buys said.

 The church has also requested attendees send in a picture of either their first date together ortheir wedding picture, which will be featured on a slide show during the dinner.

Currently, there is no limit on the number of attendees for the dinner, but interested couples must pre-register by midnight on Monday, Feb. 10. The cost is $60 per couple. Registration may be completed online at tcvicksburg.com or by calling the church office at 601-636-5282.
