Voting is under way for The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

This week’s nominees are Jordan Polk (Warren Central soccer); Karter Thomas (Vicksburg High powerlifting); Carson Henderson (St. Aloysius basketball); and Luke Moberley (Tallulah Academy baseball). Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Jordan Polk, a junior with Warren Central’s girls’ soccer team, scored four goals and assisted on two more in a pair of wins over South Panola and Neshoba Central in the MHSAA Class 6A playoffs.

Karter Thomas, a junior with Vicksburg High’s boys’ powerlifting team, won the MHSAA Region 2-6A championship in the 308-pound weight class. Thomas advanced to the Class 6A North State meet on Feb. 28 at Lake Cormorant.

Carson Henderson, a member of St. Aloysius’ boys’ basketball team, had 11 points, seven rebounds and two steals in a 56-36 loss to Brookhaven Academy in the MAIS Class 5A South State tournament on Feb. 5.

Luke Moberley, an eighth-grader with Tallulah Academy’s baseball team, went 3-for-4 with two walks, three runs scored and one RBI in a 12-7 season-opening win over Deer Creek on Feb. 6. He also had six strikeouts in 3 2/3 scoreless innings pitched.
