Jordan Polk piled up goals during Warren Central’s run to the MHSAA Class 6A soccer semifinals, and just enough votes to secure The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week award.

Polk received 2,502 of the 6,673 votes cast in an online poll of The Post’s readers to take this week’s award. That narrowly edged Vicksburg High powerlifter Karter Thomas by about 200 votes.

Thomas received 2,303 votes to finish second. St. Aloysius basketball player Carson Henderson was third, with 1,620 votes, and Tallulah Academy baseball player Luke Moberley was fourth with 527.
