Thomas W. Preston died.

U.S. Fleet employees contributed $68 to the food depot.
80 YEARS AGO: 1945
Sgt. Robert Arnott was commissioned a second lieutenant and warded the Bronze Star for heroism in France.
70 YEARS AGO: 1955
Services were held for William L. Nicholson.
60 YEARS AGO: 1965
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Curtis announced the birth of a son, Timmy, on Feb. 16.
50 YEARS AGO: 1975
Miss Ottilie B. Redus was named outstanding senior citizen for February in Claiborne County.
40 YEARS AGO: 1985
Louis P. Cashman Jr., editor and publisher of the Vicksburg Evening Post and Vicksburg Sunday Post since 1961, retired and was succeeded by his son, “Pat” Cashman III and daughter, Mary Louise Cashman.

It was announced that a new school would be built on Dana Road to replace Jett Elementary.
