In boys’ doubles, the No. 1 team of Sam Harris and Luke Bond won 6-4, 6-4 over Kahari McNeal and Cannon Hill; and the No. 2 pairing of Gray Lampkin and Brady Taylor defeated Nathan Davis and Dewayne Anderson 6-3, 6-1.

Laura Bailey won the girls’ singles point by forfeit, while Seth Lugo didn’t have much trouble in beating Isiaha Perice 7-6, 6-3.

The most competitive match was in mixed doubles, where Warren Central’s Charles Harris and Ellie Tennison needed a third-set tiebreaker to get past Natchez’s McNeal and Kinlay McBride 6-1, 0-6, 10-6.

Warren Central (3-2) had lost 6-1 to both Brookhaven and Clinton in its previous two matches, after winning its first two of the season. The Vikings will host Ridgeland in the MHSAA Region 2-6A opener Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Halls Ferry Park.
