Mrs. W.G.  Redfield of Edwards died. • “Holiday” was presented by members of the Little Theater Guild. 

80 YEARS AGO: 1945

Well-known local resident Wayne A. Johnston was elected president of the Illinois Central Railroad  System. 

70 YEARS AGO: 1955

Services were held for Mrs. Inez Rozell, a former Warren County resident who died in Biloxi. 

60 YEARS AGO: 1965

Stephen Treanor, former president of First National  Bank, died. • Restoration of the salvaged Cairo was determined to cost between $500,000 and $800,000, officials said.

50 YEARS AGO: 1975

Airman Robert Bryan Kethley graduated with honors from the Missile Computer Program at Sheppard Air Force Base. 

40 YEARS AGO: 1985

The home of Carolyn Drayton  was damaged by fire. • Patrick Eugene Lyons celebrated his third birthday.  

30 YEARS AGO: 1995

Cynde Carr was named Mississippi Association of Marketing Educators Teacher of the Year. 

20 YEARS AGO: 2005

James Blackledge combined his woodcarving and collecting to build showcases of art made from scratch. 

10 YEARS AGO: 2015

A parade was held to celebrate Vicksburg native and Super Bowl XLIX hero Malcolm Butler of the New England Patriots.
