Henry N. Levy went to Greenville on business. • Rabbi Sol Kory moved into the Aeolian Apartments.

Well-known Warren County farmer Eugene C. Erwin died. • A fire did considerable damage to the vacant two-story building on Walnut Street, adjacent to the Central Fire Station.

Mrs. A.C. Johnston of Clarksdale returned home after visiting relatives in Warren County.
70 YEARS AGO: 1955
Services were held for Jack Doyle. • The Mississippi Historical Society opened its annual convention in Vicksburg.

A.R. Kelley completes more than 40 years of service with the Illinois Central Railroad. • Mrs. Mary Frances Thomas died.

Jay Jabour and Peggy Thomas received the Mississippi Jaycees and Jaycettes highest honors at the groups’ joint conventions in Biloxi.
