Voting is under way for The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

This week’s nominees are Ellie Tennison (Warren Central tennis); and baseball players Kaleb Doss (Vicksburg), Keller Bradley (St. Aloysius), and J.T. McDaniel (Tallulah Academy).

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Ellie Tennison, a member of Warren Central’s tennis team, improved her season record in doubles matches to 4-1 with a 6-0, 6-0 mixed doubles win over Natchez on Feb. 17. Tennison teamed with Charles Harris for that victory, and has played with a total of four partners in five matches this season.

Keller Bradley, a sophomore with St. Aloysius’ baseball team, went 4-for-6 with two RBIs and one run scored in two games last week. He had two hits in a 5-3 win over Prairie View Academy on Feb. 17, and two more in a 5-3 loss to Tri-County on Feb. 18.

Kaleb Doss, a member of Vicksburg High’s baseball team, reached base nine times as the Gators won two of their three games last week. Doss was 3-for-7, with six walks, three RBIs, three runs scored and five stolen bases in three games.

J.T. McDaniel, a sophomore, totaled 17 strikeouts and allowed one run in eight innings pitched as Tallulah Academy won two of its three baseball games last week. McDaniel was also 3-for-7 at the plate, with two doubles, one RBI and two runs scored.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline. The winner will be announced Wednesday on vicksburgpost.com and then be featured in our Friday print edition.
