Warren Central’s Ellie Tennison is The Post’s Athlete of the Week

Ellie Tennison has been on a roll on the tennis court this season, and it carried over to The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

The Warren Central junior tennis player received 1,599 of the 2,315 votes cast in an online poll of The Post’s readers to claim this week’s award.

Vicksburg High baseball player Kaleb Doss finished second, with 382 votes. St. Aloysius baseball player Keller Bradley was third, with 207, and Tallulah Academy baseball player J.T. McDaniel was fourth with 183.

Tennison is 5-1 in girls and mixed doubles matches this season. She teamed with Charles Harris for a 6-0, 6-0 mixed doubles win over Natchez on Feb. 17, and with Marlee Solomon for a 7-6, 6-0 victory in girls doubles against Germantown on Feb 24. Tennison has played with a total of four partners in six matches this season.
