A house fire Thursday morning on Warrenton Lane did not result in any injuries, but is being investigated as a possible arson incident, Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said.

“At approximately 6:54 a.m. this morning, the Vicksburg Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 901 Warrenton Lane,” he said. “Upon arrival, firefighters noticed smoke and promptly initiated an interior attack, successfully extinguishing the fire with minimal damage to the structure.”

Stamps said, despite the small amount of damage, Vicksburg Fire Department initiated an investigation into the incident after firefighters noticed suspicious factors.

“The fire exhibited multiple points of origin, indicating it was likely intentionally set,” Stamps said. “Fire Investigator Nathaniel Williams will lead the investigation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.”
