East Central Community College baseball player Ryan Nelson, a Warren Central alum, is batting .318 with three home runs, 10 RBIs, four stolen bases and 16 runs scored this season.

Nelson has hit safely in seven of his last eight games. He was 3-for-9 with a home run, four RBIs, and three runs scored in a split doubleheader Wednesday against Meridian and East Mississippi. East Central beat East Mississippi 11-1, but lost 7-6 to Meridian.

East Central is 10-2 so far this season and is ranked No. 2 in NJCAA Division II.
