Theo Levi was in New York on a buying trip. • Bob Auter was able to return to work after a long illness.

W.W. Broome was named chairman of the Boy Scout finance drive.

Maj. Bart LaHatte was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman Badge for exemplary conduct and action against the enemy in the Pacific. 

70 YEARS AGO: 1955

Services were held for Elizabeth Griffin. • Capt. and Mrs. W.G.  Davis were visiting  Memphis. 

60 YEARS AGO: 1965

Services were held for Mrs.Charles Ross Sr. • Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sanderson announced the birth of a son, John. 

50 YEARS AGO: 1975

Warren Central coach Lum Right was chosen as head coach of the South Squad for the 26th annual high school all-star game. 

40 YEARS AGO: 1985

Mrs. Elenora Smith died. • Janice Michelle Parks celebrated her fourth birthday.  

30 YEARS AGO: 1995

Benjamin S. Patin was selected for membership in Iota Phi Sigma national funeral service honor society. 

20 YEARS AGO: 2005

Porter’s Chapel Academy first-graders Hannah Patel and Emily Kolb packed up goodies for PCA graduate Allen Pugh, who had been deployed to Afghanistan.
