Vicksburg Warren School District (VWSD) officials announced Monday that all schools will release early Tuesday due to the threat of inclement weather.

“Due to forecasts indicating the possibility of inclement weather in the Vicksburg Warren School District area, the district will implement an early release schedule beginning at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025,” officials said in a statement.

The early release schedule includes:

• Elementary schools release: 7:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
• Junior high schools: 8:25 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
• High schools: 8:25 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.

“While we understand that weather conditions may be a concern for some families, district officials have closely monitored the situation and consulted with local authorities to asses potential risks,” the statement reads. “Based on the latest available information, we believe it is safe to proceed with the school day while taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff through an early release.

“Should weather conditions deteriorate unexpectedly, we will promptly communicate any updates or schedule changes through our official communication channels, including social media and SchoolStatus. We encourage families to make necessary transportation arrangements and stay informed by monitoring weather updates.”
