St. Al’s Clark Hobson is The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week

Clark Hobson had a productive week at the plate for St. Aloysius, and in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest as well.

The St. Aloysius baseball player received 1,248 of the 1,736 votes cast in an online poll of The Post’s readers to take this week’s award.

Vicksburg High track athlete Zion Knox finished second, with 374 votes. Warren Central track athlete chester Savage finished third, with 135 votes, and Porter’s Chapel Academy basketball player Sophie Masterson was fourth.

Hobson, a senior first baseman, batted .400 with six RBIs as the Flashes won two of their three games last week. He also pitched five innings and had five strikeouts against Tri-County on Feb. 25.

Hobson was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in a 9-4 win over Manchester Academy on Feb. 24, and went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a 14-4 rout of Tallulah Academy on Feb. 28.
