The Warren County Board of Supervisors has named a new county comptroller. Brandall Smith began working in his new position on Feb. 24.
“I oversee all of the financial duties of the county, as far as accounts payable, purchasing, things of that nature; I make sure the process is followed correctly,” Smith said.
Smith is no stranger when it comes to finances.
“I’m originally from Simpson County, but I’ve been in Hinds County for the past 15 years. I went to school at Jackson State University, and graduated from there with an accounting degree,” he said. “I worked for the state health department for four years and I worked with Hinds County for three and a half years prior to coming here.”
While working for Hinds County, Smith served as the budget and accounting coordinator for the Hinds County Board of Supervisors.
“I am very excited to be here in Warren County and being a part of the great things that they have going on,” Smith said. “I’m ready to see what’s to come.”
