RAYMOND – Hinds Community College recognized students winning awards in the annual Student Awards of Distinction ceremony on Feb. 20.

Those awards include SOAR nominees. Each campus may nominate one Award of Excellence designee for the SOAR Award. The Awards of Distinction application, scholarship essay, and recommendations for this student nominee clearly demonstrate that this student soars toward excellence in all endeavors. The winner of the SOAR Award is selected by the college’s Executive Leadership Team.

Students selected as nominees include, from left, Kamsiyochukwu Anakor of Kansas City, Mo., Nursing Allied Health; Nathan Winter of Brandon, Rankin Campus; La’ Trenda Hudson of Jackson, Utica Campus; Alysha Murrell of Vicksburg, Vicksburg-Warren Campus; Casey Small of Tupelo, Jackson Campus; and Jamiya Sharp of Kosciusko, Raymond Campus, who was named the winner of the SOAR award.
