Porter’s Chapel Academy walked off with a memorable — and stunning — victory on Tuesday.

Carson Hays delivered a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning, capping PCA’s comeback from a four-run deficit and giving it a 5-4 baseball win over Benton Academy.

Benton run-ruled PCA 15-3 on Monday in Yazoo City and seemed headed toward sweeping the home-and-home series with another win in Vicksburg. The Raiders led 4-0 entering the bottom of the sixth inning.
Dalton Robles doubled and had three RBIs for Benton (2-6).

PCA (2-10) then batted around while scoring four runs to tie it. Three walks and a hit batter, two of those with the bases loaded, brought in two runs and then Landon McCullough drove in the other two with a two-out single.

PCA pitcher Coltin Hancock held Benton without a run in the top of the seventh, and the Eagles went back to work in the bottom half.

Chad Fuson was hit by a pitch to start the inning and Cameron Potter followed with a walk. Hays then doubled to center field to bring in Fuson with the winning run.

Hays finished with two hits and also walked twice. McCullough was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Hunter Simms reached base twice and scored a run.

Hancock pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. He did not allow a hit, walked two batters and struck out four.
Starting pitcher Evan Gordon had six strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

PCA has now won two of its last three games after losing the first nine. It will be back in action Friday at 6 p.m., at Tensas Academy.
