Layla Carter, a Vicksburg High alum, had 25 points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists for Mississippi Delta Community College in a 69-68 overtime win against Northeast Mississippi in the second round of the NJCAA Region 23 women’s basketball playoffs on Monday.

Carter hit two free throws with two seconds left in regulation to tie it at 62, and then had three points and two rebounds in overtime.

Mississippi Delta (20-6) advanced to face Pearl River on Saturday, March 15, at 5:30 p.m.
