Rock stars: Midd-West helps kick off library pilot program

Visitors from Midd-West Works, a company devoted to assisting disabled and otherwise challenged adults in Vicksburg, helped the Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library kick off the pilot program Happy Rocks Thursday morning with an art class designed to help teach empathy and other life skills.

Librarian Marie Cunningham said the new program is based on the book “Scribble Stones” by Diane Alber, adding her hope is that Thursday’s kickoff is the just the first of many more classes to come.

Members of the Midd-West group visiting the library for Thursday’s program included: Fabian Burks; John Walker; Willie Monroe; Ka’Darris Goodman; Robert Ware; Jamel Selmon; John Brown Jr.; Randall Derby; Tillman Mitchell; JaKwuan Thompson; and Linda McDaniel. Midd-West staff included: Tanya Harris; Ruby Reed; Mayra James; and Tiffany Lane.
