Bradley was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs scored, and he also walked twice. Smith was 2-for-5 and scored a run. William Roberson, Walt Andrews, Laken Bradley and Robert Lee all scored two runs apiece.

Price Foil went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Central Hinds. Cooper Loftin doubled twice and drove in two runs, and Noah Delaughter had two hits.

The Flashes jumped out to a 4-0 in the second inning, let most of it slip away when Central Hinds scored three times in the third, then took control again with a big rally.

Eleven consecutive batters reach base as St. Al scored six runs in its half of the third inning to take a 10-3 lead. Smith hit a two-run double and Roberson an RBI single, but the damage was mostly done through free passes. Central Hinds’ pitchers walked five batters and hit two others.

Oddly, St. Al only made one out at the plate in the third inning. One runner was caught stealing, and another was thrown out at home trying to score on a single by Lee.

Sadler Lambiotte added an RBI double and scored on an error for the Flashes in the fifth inning, and Melton slugged his first high school home run over the left field fence in the sixth.

St. Al and Central Hinds will play again Thursday at 6 p.m. in Raymond.
