John J. Bradfield died. • Rod La Rocque starred in “The Golden Bed” at the Alamo Theater. • J.L. Newell was improving after being ill at the sanitarium.
90 YEARS AGO: 1935
W.A. Stanton was named architect for the Federal Housing Administration. • Hebert Flanagan was improving after suffering from the flu.
80 YEARS AGO: 1945
Lt. Floyd Wilsford underwent major surgery at Navy Hospital in New York.
70 YEARS AGO: 1955
The class of 1957 received caps in a ceremony held by Mercy Hospital Street School of Nursing.
60 YEARS AGO: 1965
Edmond Auter died. • Services were held for Mrs. Mazie Garner.
50 YEARS AGO: 1975
Mr. and Mrs. Edward B. Monsour announced the birth of a son, Neil Edward. • Paula Biedenharn earned her wings and became a flight attendant with Delta Airlines.

F.W. “At” Atkinson was honored with a retirement party after 43 years of service as Crawford Street United Methodist Church’s business manager.

City employee Joey Hearn filled in holes in the parking garage at 1500 Walnut St. • Johnnie Sanderford of Rolling Fork died.
