AMAZE Awards: 5 honored at Tuesday meeting

During the most recent round of Vicksburg Ward 1 Alderman TJ Mayfield’s AMAZE Awards – an honor dedicated to his late father Alderman Michael Mayfield and given out monthly – five local children were honored for their dedication to excellence and achievement.

The awards were handed out during Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Included were: Malcolm Lewis (not present) for being a district spelling bee winner and qualifying for the state spelling bee; Norberto Nadal for  being a district spelling bee winner and qualifying for the state spelling bee; Robert Johnson for receiving a nomination for the Distinguished Scholar at the Nashville Youth Leadership Forum; Ivy Watkins for outstanding leadership and character; and Jennifer Clay for outstanding leadership and academic achievement at Bowmar Elementary.
