Lindsay McGee stated the Mint Springs Park would soon open. • Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kinkead were married.
90 YEARS AGO: 1935
Mrs. A.A. Wood of Cincinnati was in Warren County visiting her sister, Mrs. Grey Flowers.
80 YEARS AGO: 1945
Etta Mae Brumfield of the Bowmar Avenue School faculty was spending the Easter holiday in Texas. • Lottie Griffin was hostess to members of the Crawford Street Wesleyan Guild.
70 YEARS AGO: 1955
Services were held for Gene Farley. • Lt. and Mrs. Fred Newcomb announced the birth of a daughter, Paula, on March 22.
60 YEARS AGO: 1965
T.A. Woods died. • B.H. Quinn and Shouphie Habeeb were appointed to the 1965 United States Savings and Loan League.
50 YEARS AGO: 1975
Carrie Bell Rivers died. • Howard Wayne Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Martin, joined the Air Force.
40 YEARS AGO: 1985
Executive Editor Charles Faulk retired – sort of – after 50 years with the Vicksburg Evening Post. • Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Wayne Peay of Cary announced the birth of a son, Dustin Wade, on March 22.
30 YEARS AGO: 1995
Staff members of the Vicksburg Medical Center washed physicians’ vehicles to celebrate Doctors’ Day. • Culkin Elementary students formed an American flag with pieces of cardboard as part of a “Proud to be an American” presentation.
20 YEARS AGO: 2005
New signage went up in Vicksburg, directing tourists from the Vicksburg National Military Park into the city’s historic downtown area.
10 YEARS AGO: 2015
Vicksburg celebrated Easter with the second annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Outlets of Vicksburg.
