A Vicksburg man has been convicted in federal court of two counts of falsifying records, two counts of aggravated identity theft, and one count of obstruction of justice.

According to court documents, 42-year-old Zaid Khalaf, a former Federal Firearms Licensee, was convicted by a federal jury following a two-day trial in Jackson.

According to evidence presented in court, Khalaf was a licensee at a Vicksburg gun shop, beginning in 2022. In April 2024, an inspection by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) found that he had falsified a number of firearms transaction records and used identities and social security numbers of customers to falsify transactions in their names.
