Voting is under way for The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.
This week’s nominees are baseball players Walt Andrews (St. Aloysius) and Caleb Grady (Tallulah Academy); Cedrionna Blackmore (Vicksburg powerlifting); and Madison Pant (Warren Central softball). Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Walt Andrews, a sophomore outfielder with St. Aloysius’ baseball team, batted .400 with four RBIs and four runs scored in a three-game series sweep of ACCS last week. Andrews reached base in eight of his 14 plate appearances and had three stolen bases.
Cedrionna Blackmore, a sophomore powerlifter at Vicksburg High, won the MHSAA Class 6A state championship in the girls’ 220-pound weight class on March 28. She had a total weight of 810 pounds in the bench press, squat and deadlift.
Madison Pant, a junior pitcher with Warren Central’s softball team, had 14 strikeouts in a five-inning perfect game against Ridgeland on March 25, as WC won 22-0. She has pitched 11 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings, and 8 1/3 without allowing a hit.
Caleb Grady, an eighth-grade first baseman with Tallulah Academy’s baseball team, was 2-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBIs in two games last week.
