Mrs. A.Z. Hold underwent surgery at the infirmary. • Jerry Adams resigned as an employee of the Saenger Amusement Co. • Joe Katzenmeyer was killed in an auto accident.

A cyclone hit Valley Park. • Trestle work on the Mississippi River Bridge was completed at a cost of $229,000. • Mrs. R.W. Kline, a former Warren County resident, died in New Orleans.

Barbara Chalifant, librarian at the Belzoni school, was home for the Easter holiday. • Mrs. E.L. Brien returned to Memphis after visiting relatives in Warren County.

Mrs. Zella B. Brabston of Bovina died. • Plans were announced for a concert in Vicksburg by Guy Lombardo and his orchestra.

Mrs. Pearl A. Kirkland died. • Dr. and Mrs. W.K. Purks attended a meeting of the American College of Physicians.

Gov. Bill Waller approved a grant of $12,725 to assist the City of Vicksburg in funding its specialized narcotics unit.

James C. Robbins, owner and operator of Robbins Funeral Home for 65 years, died.
