In what hospital officials called “a remarkable act of community service,” the Mu Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., in collaboration with the Pearl Connection Foundation, has donated heart pillows to the Cardiology Lab at Merit Health River Region.
“This thoughtful gesture aims to bring comfort and support to patients undergoing heart procedures,” hospital representatives said.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., known for its service to all mankind, and the Pearl Connection Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals and communities, have come together to show their support for heart patients at Merit Health River Region. The heart pillows, signed by the healthcare team, are not just a source of physical comfort during the recovery process, but also a symbol of emotional support, making a significant difference in the patients’ healing journey, hospital officials added.
“These heart pillows are more than just a comfort aid, they are a symbol of compassion, care, and community support,” Merit Health River Region Assistant CEO Trevor Spradling said. “They mean a lot to our patients going through heart procedures. It’s incredibly heartfelt for our team to sign these pillows, which the patients take home with them. We appreciate the generosity of the Mu Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the Pearl Connection Foundation for this thoughtful donation.”
The collaboration between these organizations and their generous donation underscores their commitment to community service and the well-being of individuals undergoing crucial medical procedures, hospital officials said.
