The City of Vicksburg has announced Indiana Avenue is closed between Confederate Avenue and Frontage Road after a tree fell across the roadway Friday morning.

The tree brought down power lines in the fall and there is currently no estimated time for reopening of the roadway.

City officials are asking motorists to use alternate routes and to exercise extreme caution when in the area.
