The threat of rain and severe weather has led to a few changes in the Saturday sports schedule in Warren County.
Warren Central baseball coach Randy Broome said his team’s home game against Northwest Rankin has been moved up five hours, to 11 a.m. at Viking Field. The varsity game will be played first and the junior varsity afterward at approximately 1 p.m.
Vicksburg High’s softball team was scheduled to play in a tournament at Riverside High School in Greenville, but it has been canceled.
Vicksburg’s baseball team is scheduled to play a home game against Meridian at 3 p.m. No changes have yet been announced for that game, although coach Brandon Kincaid said it could be moved up.
The Miss Mississippi Pickleball Tournament will go on rain or shine, tournament director Glenn Rhett said. The event is still scheduled to be played at Halls Ferry Park beginning at 8 a.m., but if it rains it will be moved indoors to First Baptist Church at 1607 Cherry Street.
Mississippi State announced it has moved up the start time of its baseball game against South Carolina to noon, at Dudy Noble Field in Starkville.
