Porter’s Chapel Academy freshman Lakelan Pecanty won the junior high boys long jump at the Canton Academy Sterling Penn Invite track and field meet on Wednesday. Pecanty jumped 18 feet, 7.5 inches.

Pecanty also had a time of 12.44 seconds in the 100 meters; 25.95 seconds in the 200; and competed on the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 meter relays in the high school division. He finished eighth in the 100 meters and sixth in the 200, out of nearly 30 runners in each event, and all three relays were in the top eight out of 14 teams.
