An accident on Interstate 20 near the Flowers exit Wednesday backed up traffic and sent one person to the hospital after a vehicle ran into the back of an 18-wheeler.

Warren County Fire Service District 4, EMS, Vicksburg Fire Department, University of Mississippi Medical Center AirCare and the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) responded to the accident, where the driver of a pickup truck was extricated from the vehicle.

Warren County Fire Service said the patient was transported to a nearby trauma facility for treatment and no other injuries were reported.

MHP is the agency investigating the accident.
