Funeral services for Milton Ray Jefferson Sr. are to be held Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m. in the Kings Empowerment Center, 224 Rosie L. Chase Circle, with the Rev. Pat Taylor officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, April 18, in the funeral home from 5 to 6 p.m.

Milton Ray Jefferson Sr. passed away Thursday, April 10, following a brief illness. He was 67. He was a self-employed certified air conditioning specialist. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Smith Sr. and Mary Lee Jefferson-Smith; his brothers, Benard Jefferson, William Jefferson, Robert Earl Smith and Willie Smith Jr.; and his sisters, Sadie Lee Bush and Lee Easter Bridges.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria Jefferson; his sons, Milton Ray Jefferson Jr. of Tallahassee, Florida, Phillip Williams Sr., Roosevelt Berry and Joshua Clayton, all of Vicksburg; his daughters, Dalphine Smith and Shonda Lockhart, both of Vicksburg, and Angela Jefferson of Tallahassee; brother, Terry Ross of Vicksburg; sisters, Melvina Jones, Rosetta Smith, Sandra Smith and Sharon Dotson, all of Vicksburg, and Mary Diana Watson of Natchez; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
