Voting is under way for The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

This week’s nominees are softball players Sydney Hern (Warren Central) and Harmony Harris (Vicksburg); Lakelan Pecanty (Porter’s Chapel Academy track); and Keller Bradley (St. Aloysius baseball).

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Sydney Hern, a senior third baseman with Warren Central’s softball team, was 4-for-8 with two home runs, one double, five RBIs and seven runs scored in wins over Florence, Neshoba Central and Ridgeland.

Lakelan Pecanty, a freshman with Porter’s Chapel Academy’s boys’ track and field team, won the long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 9 inches, as well as the 100 meters and the 200 meters at the MAIS District 4-3A junior high meet on April 9.

Harmony Harris, a sophomore infielder with Vicksburg High’s softball team, went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored in two games last week.

Keller Bradley, a sophomore outfielder and pitcher with St. Aloysius’ baseball team, was 5-for-7 with three RBIs and seven runs scored in a doubleheader sweep of Cathedral on April 11 that clinched the MAIS District 4-A title. He also had seven strikeouts in five innings pitched.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline. The winner will be announced Wednesday on vicksburgpost.com and featured in our Friday print edition.
