Vicksburg’s Harris is The Post’s Athlete of the Week

Harmony Harris’ song played in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.
The Vicksburg High softball player received 1,320 of the 2,105 votes cast in an online poll of The Post’s readers to claim this week’s award.
St. Aloysius baseball player Keller Bradley won a tight three-way battle for second place, with 305 votes. Porter’s Chapel Academy track athlete Lakelan Pecanty was third, with 258 votes, and Warren Central softball player Sydney Hern was fourth with 245.
Harris, a sophomore infielder, went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored in two games last week. She was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored in an 18-0 rout of Ridgeland on April 8, and 2-for-3 with a run scored in a 5-4 loss to Loyd Star on April 10.
Harris also singled, walked, and scored one run in a 7-4 upset of Warren Central on Tuesday. It was the Missy Gators’ first win over Warren Central since 2012.
Harris is batting .543 this season, with six doubles, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
