Port Gibson track and field athlete Malinda McCray won the 800 and 3,200 meters, and finished second in the 1,600 meters and 4×400 meter relay at the MHSAA Region 7-3A meet on April 8.

McCray, a junior, won the 800 meters with a time of 2:45.57, and the 3,200 in 13:52.13.

Port Gibson won the girls’ team championship as well, with 192 points. South Pike was second with 169 and Jefferson County third with 113.

McCray and the other Blue Waves will compete in the MHSAA Class 3A South State meet on April 26 in Columbia.
