The Vicksburg Fire Department quickly extinguished a structure fire Saturday morning after a home on East Avenue caught fire.
Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said the home sustained damage, but no one was injured.
“At around 10:29 a.m., the Vicksburg Fire Department rushed to a reported structure fire scene at 1335 East Ave.,” Stamps said. “As the firefighters arrived, they were met with the sight of flickering flames erupting from within the structure. Without hesitation, the crews launched a courageous interior attack, battling the fire fiercely to bring it under control. Despite the damage caused to the structure, the firefighters’ quick response and brave efforts ensured that no injuries were reported.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
