PCA’s Tyler Hatler is The Post’s Athlete of the Week

Tyler Hatler stepped to the top of the podium twice at the MAIS District 4-3A track meet, and once more as The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week.

Hatler, a senior with Porter’s Chapel Academy’s boys’ track and field team, received 931 of the 2,628 votes cast in an online poll of The Post’s readers to claim this week’s award.

St. Aloysius track athlete Megan Theriot finished second, with 761 votes. Warren Central’s boys doubles tennis team of Brady Taylor and Gray Lampkin were third, with 644 votes, and Vicksburg High softball player Camden McGloster was fourth with 358.

Hatler led Porter’s Chapel to the District 4-3A team championship on April 15 by winning the 1,600 and 3,200 meters with times of 6:10.53 and 12:01.27, respectively. He also finished second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:34.42.

Hatler and his teammates are competing in the MAIS Class 3A South State meet at Canton Academy on April 23 and 26.
