Warren Central kept stacking up runs — and wins — as the MHSAA Class 6A baseball playoffs got under way Friday night.
Tristan Jamison went 3-for-5 with three doubles and five RBis, and Nathaniel Moore pitched a six-inning complete game as Warren Central beat Center Hill 11-1 in Game 1 of the best-of-three first-round series.
Game 2 is Saturday at 7 p.m. at Center Hill. Warren Central (17-9), which reached the Class 6A finals in 2024, will go for the sweep after winning for the 14th time in its last 15 games.
Jamison powered a 12-hit attack for the Vikings, who had six doubles and scored in every inning. He hit a twp-run double in the first inning, and cleared the bases with another two-bagger in the fourth that made it 8-1. He hit another double in the third inning and scored on a single by Blake Caruthers.
Hayes Loper also doubled in two runs in the second inning and finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Maddox Lynch had two hits and scored three runs as well.
Moore was sharp on the mound. He allowed five hits and one walk while striking out seven batters.
JaMaryon Warren and Grayson Doss had two hits apiece for Center Hill (10-17). Warren hit an RBI triple in the second inning to bring in the Mustangs’ only run.
