  1. Lawrence Warner would take charge of the bond department at the First National Bank. 

80 YEARS AGO: 1945

Mrs. John Welch was in Warren County from Paducah, Kentucky, visiting relatives. 

70 YEARS AGO: 1955

Senior students from SFXA and St. Aloysius high schools presented “Jane Eyre” at the Grove Street Auditorium. 

60 YEARS AGO: 1965

Madison Parish, Louisiana resident Mrs. James E. Goddrum Sr. died. • Elizabeth Taylor starred in “Cleopatra” at the Rivoli Drive-In Theater.  

50 YEARS AGO: 1975

Johnnie R. Crump, a retired Corps employee, died. • Charles Jennings died after a lengthy illness.

40 YEARS AGO: 1985

Alton E. Clark was killed when hit by a car. • Services were held for Grace L. Glidwell.   

30 YEARS AGO: 1995

Jonathan Olsen accompanied his dad Richard to the Waterways Experiment Station as part of Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day. 

20 YEARS AGO: 2005

The Vicksburg Zoning Board was in a stalemate with Ameristar Casino over a request to build a 14-story hotel and parking garage along the Mississippi River. 

10 YEARS AGO: 2015

It was announced that NRoute had finished the first half of the fiscal year in the black.
