Vicksburg Chief of Police Penny Jones on Saturday morning said a shootout in the parking lot of the Waffle House on Clay Street just after 4 a.m. damaged property, but resulted in no injuries, and is currently under investigation.
“The Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Waffle House, located in the 4000 block of East Clay Street,” Jones said Saturday just after 9 a.m. “Three windows of the business and two vehicles were damaged by gunfire. Preliminary information suggests that a shootout took place as vehicles were leaving the parking lot. Several shell casings were recovered at the scene. At this time, no injuries have been reported.”
Jones said the investigation is underway and encouraged anyone with any information to reach out to VPD.
“Video footage has been collected and will be reviewed to determine how the incident unfolded and to identify those involved,” she said. “Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Capt. Curtis Judge at the Vicksburg Police Department at 601-636-2511.”
