The Southern Heritage Air Foundation (SHAF) will hold its May Salute to Veterans Lunch Tuesday, May 6, at noon at its location at the Vicksburg Tallulah Regional Airport. SHAF’s World War II museum will open its doors at 10 a.m.

“Breaking bread with local heroes is a great way to tell them you are grateful for their service,” SHAF President Patty Mekus said. “If you are a veteran or someone currently serving, this is a great time for fellowship with other veterans and servicemen.”

Mekus said the public is welcome to attend and, as with all SHAF lunches, there is limited seating and RSVPs are required. Veterans’ lunches are complimentary with a reservation. For all others, pre-purchase lunch tickets are available online through May 2, and are $15 per person; $20 at the door.
Lunch reservations can be made online at: https://southernheritageair.org/calendar%2Fevents
Lunch will be served by local food truck Triple J’s Pizza Taco, and dessert will be provided by SHAF volunteers.
Special guests for the May lunch will include local 101-year-old World Ware II army veteran Rufus Puckett, local veterans and those currently serving, Miss Mississippi Becky Williams and other local dignitaries.
