Warren Central track athlete Gavin Davenport won the shot put, with a throw of 42 feet, 7.5 inches, at the MHSAA Class 6A North State meet on April 26. It was one of five individual events that Warren Central’s boys’ team won at the meet.

Davenport and other athletes from Warren Central and Vicksburg High will compete in the Class 6A state meet Saturday, May 3, at Pearl High School. Field events begin at 11 a.m. and running events at 3 p.m.
