“The safety and well-being of our community is not negotiable,” Mayfield said. “I’m honored to stand alongside Chief Penny Jones as we bring this neighborhood watch event to the South Street area.”

Mayfield said communication between residents and local leaders and law enforcement is key in the quest to lower crime and up safety in the area.

“This initiative is a vital step toward fostering accountability, increasing vigilance, and building a direct line of communication between our residents and law enforcement,” he said. “We must face the challenges in our neighborhoods together, with purpose and resolve.”
