Graduation section is great keepsake for seniors, families

Graduation season has arrived and for the next several weeks, The Vicksburg Post will be covering ceremonies, shooting photos and writing stories about local high school and college graduates as they move into the next phase of their lives.
It’s a really exciting time for both the students themselves and for their families and friends. Today’s edition of The Post includes our annual graduation section highlighting all the graduates from Vicksburg, Warren Central, River City Early College and St. Aloysious high schools, as well as those from Porter’s Chapel Academy. In similar fashion to the students’ yearbooks, this special section is a fantastic keepsake for graduates and those who love and support them.
In addition to listing the graduates alongside their senior portraits, this special section is also a testament to the investment local businesses have in the education of our community’s students. As you flip through the pages of today’s section, you’ll see congratulatory ads from businesses and organizations from across Vicksburg and Warren County.
In a small community like ours, some of these businesses may have personal ties to a certain school, or even to a certain graduate; some have given out scholarships to a number of our seniors; while others are just happy to give a big thumbs up for a job well done. Whatever the case, this section would not be possible without them and it’s refreshing to see such support of education from our business community and other organizations.
Lastly, we here at The Post couldn’t be happier for our students, many of whom we have covered through educational or athletic achievement over the years. We too get to know these young men and women and are often as perplexed as anyone else that time has flown by as quickly as it has.
Graduation can be bittersweet for many in a tight-knit community like ours, but the happy will surely outweigh the sad when these seniors cross the stage and receive their diplomas. Congrats, Class of 2025. We hope you’ll enjoy this special keepsake section now and well into the future.
