No one was injured after an electrical box exploded at a house on Summer Drive Tuesday afternoon, Vicksburg Fire Department (VFD) Chief Derrick Stamps said.
“At approximately 3:15 p.m., the Vicksburg Fire Department responded to 117 Summer (Drive) for an electrical box that had exploded, creating smoke throughout the house,” Stamps said. “Upon arrival, crews saw light smoke coming from the structure and after investigation of the smoke, crews noticed fire in (the) back corner.”
Stamps said the fire was quickly squelched by VFD personnel.
“(The) fire was extinguished and Entergy disabled the electrical service to the home,” he said. “No injuries were reported.”
