Mrs. Alice Baxter of St. Joseph, Louisiana was in Warren County visiting Mrs. Ida Hodges.

W.F. Laughlin was elected president of the Bachelor’s Cotillion Club. 

80 YEARS AGO: 1945

Mrs. W.G. Chipman of Greenville returned home after spending two weeks with her sister, Mrs. E.L. Parrish. 

70 YEARS AGO: 1955

Services were held for J.W. Gray.

60 YEARS AGO: 1965

Vicksburg Rotarians held their annual ladies night at the Vicksburg Auditorium. 

50 YEARS AGO: 1975

Mr. and Mrs. Willie R. Johnson announced the birth of a son, Willie R. Jr., on May 8. 

40 YEARS AGO: 1985

Services were held for Lena Bufkin Tidwell in Port Gibson. 

30 YEARS AGO: 1995

Sewer lines were laid for the juvenile detention center at Adams and Grove streets.

20 YEARS AGO: 2005

The Mississippi Department of Transportation was repaving portions of Interstate 20 around and through Vicksburg. 

10 YEARS AGO: 2015

Dr. Buddy Strickland left retirement to become the principal at St. Aloysius High School.
