Vicksburg City Pool will open to the public for its summer swim season on Friday, May 30, at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $2 per swimmer, and there is a dress code of proper, modest swimsuits. No cotton, sports bras or T-shirts are allowed in the water.

Patrons will be able to swim for two-hour sessions, from 1-3 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Wednesday and Thursday are reserved for daycare centers and special groups by reservation. The pool is closed on Tuesday and Sunday. It will also be closed June 6-8 and July 12 for Vicksburg Swim Association meets, and on July 4.

Lap Swimming is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday on non-swim lesson weeks, and noon to 1 p.m. during swim lesson weeks.

The schedule is based on a limited swimmer to lifeguard ratio.

The maximum swimmer capacity will be 60 patrons for each two-hour period. Because of the shortage of lifeguards, the deep end of the pool will be closed during public swim periods.
